Bay Street Theater Announces Cast and Creative Team for SAFE SPACE

Bay Street Theater is announcing the cast and creative team for SAFE SPACE (June 25 - July 21), a new play by Alan Fox; directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien (All My Sons, Henry IV, Hairspray, The Coast of Utopia).

The League of Professional Theatre Women, an organization which has been leading the gender parity conversation and championing women in the professional theatre for over 35 years, presented an Oral History Project event with six-time Emmy and Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh on Monday, May 6 at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (111 Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street). Ms. Feldshuh discussed her life and prolific career with award-winning drama critic Linda Winer.

Mette Towley (Cats) and Trace Lysette (Transparent) are in negotiations to join, according to Deadline.

Admission to the event is FREE and seats are available on a first-come-first-seated basis. Doors will open at 5:30pm.

HB Studio, one of New York's original acting studios, has announced UTA HAGEN at 100, a series of special events and workshops celebrating the centenary of its master teacher, the legendary actress and activist Uta Hagen. UTA HAGEN at 100, honoring the three-time Tony Award winning actress and her legacy as a pioneering theater artist, activist and master teacher of HB Studio, will kick off on Monday, February 25 with a series of centennial events. The celebration will culminate on Monday, June 10 with a centennial gala honoring the actress, whose 100th birthday is Wednesday, June 12.

Proceeds from the event, which took place on Thursday, November 15 at Ken Fulk's brand-new multi-disciplinary arts space Saint Joseph's Arts Society, support A.C.T.'s diverse and far-reaching artistic, artist training, and education and community programs serving 250,000 Bay Area residents each year.
