Opera North and Kirklees Council have announced details of Kirklees Concert Season 2023-24, with a scaled-up programme of orchestral, organ, and festive performances in Huddersfield and Dewsbury Town Halls for Kirklees Year of Music 2023, and chamber concerts extending into summer 2024.

Westside Ballet of Santa Monica presents 'Masters of Movement: Ballet through the Centuries'-a richly varied program of classical, neoclassical, and contemporary works showcasing the range and talent of the nonprofit company's pre-professional dancers, alumni, and guest artists-on Memorial Day weekend at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica.

California Shakespeare Theater (Cal Shakes) has announced the lineup of programming for “At the Bruns,” a new series showcasing music, comedy, and theater, as well as a season opening picnic.  Presented by Cal Shakes but produced by outside community arts and culture organizations will be performing at the Bruns Memorial Amphitheater May through October 2023. 

Mariza Anastasiades (soprano) and Socrates Leptos (guitar) will perform a unique blend of both original and arranged works from France, Italy, Brazil, and Argentina, many inspired by the rich musical folklore of their respective countries. Presented by Music in the Mountains.

Symphony of the Americas and Artistic Director Pablo Mielgo welcome guest artist Rafael Aguirre, one of the most sought-after international guitarists of his generation. Aguirre will perform with the symphony's April 2023 program 'Spain...Further Beyond', an exploration of Spain's Musical Excellence.

The Chicago area's 50th annual Bach Week Festival will present five distinctly different Baroque concert programs in Chicago and Evanston, Illinois, April 28 to May 14, 2023.

The Universe of Federico Garcia Lorca will guide this performance into the Spanish dances, poems and songs from the traditional Spanish songbook. There will also be pieces from Padre Soler, Manuel de Falla and Isaac Albéniz.

Lyrical season will have 11 titles, including the premiere of O Machete, by Mehmari. Throughout 2023, will be presented of Il Seraglio, by Mozart, Cinderella, by Viardot, The Cunning Little Vixen, by Janácek, Dido and Eneas, by Purcell, among others. The program also includes ballet shows, symphonic and chamber music concerts.

Mezzo Isabel Leonard and classical-guitarist Pablo Sáinz-Villegas are stars in their fields. Leonard has sung on two Grammy-winning opera recordings and won a Beverly Sills Artist Award at the Metropolitan Opera--and even guested on Sesame Street. He's garnered 30 international awards, including the Segovia, which he won at age 15, and critics have compared him to that legendary guitarist. Understandably, their recital at the La Jolla Music Society's Conrad sold out more than a month before the performance. Chairs were added on stage for late ticket buyers.

Opera stars from across the globe will perform works from some of the most beloved operas of all time at the International Opera Awards 2022, as the opera world comes together to celebrate the best of the past season. Taking place this year at Teatro Real in Madrid on Monday 28 November, the first in-person event since 2019, the International Opera Awards 2022 is once again sponsored by Mazars.

The two-CD length album seeks to highlight diverse LGBTQIA+ voices and perspectives, through revelatory performances of important songs by some of today’s leading composers, including the world premiere recording of Ben Moore’s Love Remained in a new version for tenor, and the commissioned title work, No Choice but Love.
