The New Faith will be released as part of Smithsonian Folkways’ African American Legacy series—co-conceived with and supported by the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Conceived, written and recorded during lockdown, the album aims to envision what Black religious music would sound like in a not-so-distant future.

The deluxe will include the album’s 11 tracks along with three b-sides, “youth of the young,” “interrobang,” and “the sound of holding breath.” The deluxe also features two recently released album track remixes, “i need you (to be wrong),” remixed by the indie-pop group lovelytheband and “wolves,” remixed by indie-rock band, Sir Sly.

King II, helms the Dallas based jazz band, dancers, singers and narrators.
