The American Theatre Wing announced today that its annual Gala, which honored newly minted EGOT recipient Andrew Lloyd Webber last night at Cipriani 42nd Street, raised a record breaking total of $1,652,502 in support of the Wing's programs and the Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative Legacy Fund, breaking all previous records.

Just last night, The American Theatre Wing celebrated 101 Years of supporting strong and fearless voices in the American Theatre with a tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber's unrivaled body of work amassed over five decades. Performers included Tony Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon, Tony winner and Grammy Award nominee Heather Headley, Tony winner Katrina Lenk, Tony and Grammy nominee Norm Lewis, Webber muse Sierra Boggess, two-time Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative recipient Sydney Lopes, and a mega-band that includes School of Rock alumni Evie Dolan, Ethan Khusidman, Raghav Mehrotra, and Brandon Niederauer.

DONALD TRUMP DIES IN THE END Added To FringeNYC Lineup

DONALD TRUMP DIES IN THE END, a new play by Travis Ferguson has just been added to the FringeNYC lineup with shows 10/31-11/4. This one of a kind Theatrical Experience invites audiences directly into the 'room where it happens', with Trump, his sons, Ivanka and Jared, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and a few other surprise guests. This is a black-tie event with an evening formalwear dress code that will be enforced and tickets for this special live event are limited. Tickets are $49 and the show has an adult content advisory rating of NC-17. The production will have added security, all bags will be inspected prior to entering the theatre. A portion of proceeds will go to civil rights and free speech causes.

THE BLOODY DEED OF 1857 Opens Tonight

Following two weeks of sold out previews, The Bloody Deed of 1857 opens tonight at the landmark Colonnade Row for an open ended run. The new play is based on the actual murder of Dr. Harvey Burdell on January 30, 1857 on nearby Bond Street. The scandalous crime captivated the city, filling the columns of every newspaper for months because all evidence pointed at his rejected lover, a devoted mother and conniving widow named Emma Cunningham. But the jury didn't believe a woman could commit such a violent act. Officially, the case remains unsolved, leaving restless ghosts behind to sort through the truth for eternity.

THE BLOODY DEED OF 1857 Returns To Colonnade Row For Limited Fall Run

After a sold-out workshop run in March, Paranormal History Productions returns to Colonnade Row with an official limited run of The Bloody Deed of 1857 for the autumn season. The immersive 90 minute play is an adaptation of news accounts which reported the breathless daily developments about a sensational murder that took place on nearby Bond Street. Elise Gainer, author of Ghosts and Murders of Manhattan, credits the nearby Merchant's House Museum with the idea to turn this true-life murder into a play. The work was selected as the featured piece in the Tectonic Theatre Project's Advanced Moment Work Master Class with Moises Kaufman in May 2017. Ken Davenport, the veteran Broadway producer, consulted on this unique immersive experience including script and overall project development.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit School of Rock - The Musical will welcome back to the halls of Horace Green, Mamie Parris, as Principal Rosalie Mullins beginning on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. She will play the role through the show's final performance on January 20, 2019 and succeeds Katherine McLaughlin, who plays her last performance on Sunday, September 23, 2018.

The Play That Goes Wrong, the hilarious Tony Award-winning hit Broadway comedy, will make its Boston debut at the Emerson Colonial Theatre, an Ambassador Theatre Group Venue, November 7 - 18, 2018 as part of the 2018-2019 Lexus Broadway In Boston Season. Broadway In Boston announced today that tickets for the upcoming Boston engagement will go on sale Sunday, September 9, 2018.
