Emmy-Winning Makeup Designer Marc Pilcher Dies at 53

Pilcher had begun his career working on the West End in 1988. He worked on productions such as Company, Sunset Boulevard, and Aspects of Love. Pilcher had worked alongside the likes of Dame Judi Dench, Shirley McLaine, Madonna, Emily Blunt, Dame Maggie Smith, Michelle Williams, and Sir Ian McKellen.

Mountview Names New Theatre 'The Mack' In Honour Of Sir Cameron Mackintosh

London's Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts today announced that its main theatre is to be known as The Mack, in honour of Sir Cameron Mackintosh's long-standing support for Mountview which included a generous gift of £1 million to complete the building of the theatre that will now bear his name.

Hadley Fraser some while ago established himself as one of the most protean actors around: a talent equally at home both in big-name musicals (Les Mis, Young Frankenstein) and Shakespeare (playing Aufidius to Tom Hiddleston’s Coriolanus and Polixenes in The Winter’s Tale, alongside Kenneth Branagh and Judi Dench). Now, with theatre in the capital kickstarting anew, Fraser is due to open Aug 11 at the Noel Coward Theatre in 2: 22 – A Ghost Story, which is that modern-day rarity – a stage thriller.
Playwright Michael Frayn Awarded Critics Circle Award for Services to the Arts

Playwright and novelist Michael Frayn was today awarded the Critics Circle Award for Services to the Arts, the Critics Circle’s highest honour. Every year since 1988, the Critics’ Circle has voted for a single leading artist to receive an engraved crystal rose bowl in recognition of their distinguished contribution to the arts.
