The Minty Awards, Staten Island's revered answer to the Tony Awards for Catholic High School musical theater programs, celebrated the 12th Annual Awards Ceremony Sunday, June 4 at the historic St. George Theatre with over 800 students, faculty, families, friends and dignitaries in attendance.

The Minty Organization, the non-profit company which oversees The Minty Awards, under the leadership of Michael Pinto, has announced nominations for the 12th Annual Minty Awards, set for Sunday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the historic St. George Theatre.

For the second year in a row a We Make Movies Team has joined The Easterseals Disability Film Challenge. This year is especially exciting as it is the 10th anniversary of the film challenge. Celebrate the 25th season of the Richmond County Orchestra and the 75th Anniversary of Israel with Musical Miracles, a full-orchestral production on Sunday March 26, 3 p.m. at JCC of Staten Island.

Last month, the groundbreaking band, led by vocalist/guitarist Harrison Stafford, unveiled their first single from the upcoming album, 'Original Riddim,' featuring guest vocals from the legendary roots harmony groups ISRAEL VIBRATION and THE ABYSSINIANS. Today, Groundation presents “Human Race,” the second release from ONE ROCK.

The Broadway Education Alliance, Disney Theatrical Group and Camp Broadway LLC has announced that $87,975 in educational scholarships have been awarded to students participating in the 11th annual Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance, a celebration of high school musical programs in the Greater New York area.

The Broadway Education Alliance has announced the 2020 roster of Greater New York City high schools participating in the 10th annual presentation of The  Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance, www.rogerreesawards.com. The fifty-three (53) high schools represent Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, as well as Long Island, Orange County, Rockland County, and Westchester County.

But it's not so ideal for her long-time agent Tom Lamont (David Datz) who wants nothing more than to get the headstrong actress back to Hollywood to star in a new television series, even though both of them know how badly it is written. Myra waivers but sticks to her guns, fed up with the pressures and demands of her acting career and longing for some peace and quiet and well as a much simpler life. But dealing with her nosy, omnipresent neighbors is a different matter.

The Broadway Education Alliance just announced that The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance will be held on Saturday, May 19 at Pearl Studios in Manhattan. This program is open to high schools located in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, Orange and Rockland Counties, and Westchester. To be eligible, high schools must present an officially licensed production of a Broadway musical during the 2017- 2018 academic year. The Roger Rees Awards has accepted 29 schools, whose students will compete for the title of Best Actor and Best Actress. Winners of the Roger Rees Award will represent the Greater New York region at The Broadway League Foundation's Jimmy® Awards (also known as the National High School Musical Theatre Awards) in June.
