 The Tony Awards Administration Committee met yesterday to confirm the eligibility status of 12 Broadway productions for the 2021-2022 season.  This was the first time the Tony Awards Administration Committee met to decide the eligibility for the 75th Annual Tony Awards. The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Girl From the North Country was among the nominees for the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.

The season continues on December 13th with Village Wooing, George Bernard Shaw's sparkling short romantic comedy. Village Wooing is the perfect antidote to the holiday blues. The new show by  playwright Conor McPherson just reopened at the Belasco Theatre, where the company celebrated with a special jam session outside of the theatre. Colin Bates will be joining the cast in the role of Gene Laine. Additionally, Alex Joseph Grayson, Housso Semon, Edward Staudenmayer, and Anastasia Talley will be joining the company as swings.

Late last month several member of the cast, crew, and musicians of Girl From The North Country gathered at Mare Winningham’s barn for a day of picture perfect summer fun. This is the first time a lot of the cast had seen each other in 18 months.

The eagerly-awaited Girl From The North Country - Original Broadway Cast Recording, is now available for purchase and stream. The album was released by Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.

WHAT HAPPENED?: THE MICHAELS ABROAD, the world premiere play and the final in the Rhinebeck Panorama, written and directed by Tony Award winner Richard Nelson, will begin performances on Saturday, August 28 at Frederick Loewe Theater at Hunter College in a very intimate 74-seat configuration.

Conor McPherson reimagines the songs of the legendary Bob Dylan in Girl From The North Country - the new musical about the dreams we keep close, the people we hold dear, and the place we call home.  

Antaeus Theatre Company launches their second season of their popular podcasts THE ZIP CODE PLAYS: LOS ANGELES May 20, 2021. Each play, set in six different L.A. zip codes, features acclaimed Antaeus actors enacting scripts written by members of the Antaeus Playwright Lab. Two-time Audiofile Award-winner Ramón de Ocampo reprises his role of series host, with Jeff Gardner and Ellen Mandel returning in their respective roles as audio producer/sound designer/foley artist and music composer.
