The Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters is excited to announce that Brazilian music legend Sergio Mendes, a three-time Grammy Award winner and Oscar-nominated songwriter, will perform at the organization's fundraising gala, “A Night of Magic,” on Saturday, August 26, 2023. The event will also feature a special performance of the Pageant of the Masters introduced by the multi-talented Paula Abdul, known for her work as a recording artist, dancer, choreographer, television personality and actress.

The 48th season of the popular Highlights In Jazz continues on March 19, 2020, when producer Jack Kleinsinger presents 'Ellington Everlasting.' The concert turns the spotlight on the maestro's timeless compositions and enduring legacy, through the dynamic vision of featured performers like trombonist Art Baron & The Duke's Men, drummer Bernard Purdie, bassist Bill Crow, saxophonists Bill Easley and Mark Hynes, pianist James Weidman and vocalist Ira Hawkins. In keeping with the beloved HIJ tradition, a surprise special guest will be on hand for the concert, to be held at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center.

Lou Volpe's show is full of good rhythm feel with guitar virtuosity and a unique sound is the backdrop for spirited and soulful versions of songs from the Sinatra era to Clapton & Santana, to Sting & Michael Jackson, with a salute to jazz greats and pop stars (many of whom Lou has played with) along the way. Celebrate African American Freedom Day, at the Brooklyn Jazz Hall of Fame Juneteenth Ceremony on June 19, 6pm, Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, 1368 Fulton Street, in Brooklyn.
