The Broadway Ballyhoo, now in its fifth month at The Laurie Beechman Theater, will feature one of New York's most in-demand talents, MICHAEL WINTHER. He received a Drama Desk nomination for his performance in 'Songs From an Unmade Bed' plus he has performed on Broadway with Jane Fonda and as one of the possible husbands in Mamma Mia! He will be joined by one of Forbidden Broadway's great talents, Jenny Lee Stern. In addition, Broadway Rising Star, soon to be hitting the road in the national tour of Man of La Mancha, SEAN BUHR will also be on the bill. And that's not all. On November 1, The New York Pops continued its 31st season in a return to the days when big bands ruled the dance floor with Tony Award nominee Montego Glover and Dave Bennett, clarinet, guest artists, joining the orchestra in an all-swing program, featuring a tribute to the 75th anniversary of Benny Goodman's legendary live recording at Carnegie Hall. Following eight sold-out years of readings at The Players Club in Gramercy Park, Gingold Theatrical Group's PROJECT SHAW, under the leadership of Artistic Director, David Staller, has officially moved to Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2895 Broadway at 95th St.). The debut Shaw play to inaugurate Project Shaw's new home was Shaw's Don Juan in Hell last night, October 28.

A Night With Janis Joplin, which opened earlier this month at the Lyceum Theatre, will soon release a cast album. Details on the release have not yet been announced, but BroadwayWorld was just in the recording studio with star Mary Bridget Davies. Check out photo coverage below!

Gingold Theatrical Group's SHAW NEW YORK 2013 festival concludes on Sunday October 13th. It has been highlighted by GTG's co-production of Shaw's You Never Can Tell with and at The Pearl Theatre Company. This production, which was filmed for the New York Library for the Performing Arts and Lincoln Center archives, is ending its limited run on Sunday October 13th.

Highlights include opening night curtain calls for HONEYMOON IN VEGAS and BIG FISH, as well as promotional pictures of the ONCE Tour and LES MISERABLES in Toronto, and the closing curtain call for A Trip to the Bountiful.

Digital entertainment curator FilmBuff release the rocking documentary BROADWAY IDIOT chronicling the momentous collaboration between rock and roll icons, Green Day and the 'Great White Way' to create American Idiot on Broadway. The film will be released nationwide in theaters and on VOD October 18 with an exclusive theatrical engagement in New York beginning today, October 11th.

Honeymoon in Vegas features music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown(The Last Five Years, Parade, 13) and book by Andrew Bergman (director and screenwriter of the film). Celebrity gossip blogger and Broadway fan Perez Hilton is showing his support for the 2013 Broadway's Carols for a Cure, Volume 15, singing an original song called 'Perez's 2013 Holiday Dishlist," with music by Jason Michael Webb, and lyrics by Lynn Pinto and George Howe. Perez Hilton made his New York stage debut in 2012 in the comical off-Broadway revue "NEWSical the Musical."

Ten years ago, as a reaction to over-amplification of musicals, Scott Siegel had the crazy idea that there might be an audience for a concert of Broadway show tunes performed the way they used to be sung: without microphones. And Scott had the perfect place to try out his theory, the acoustically wonderful Town Hall on West 43rd St. With no money, but the support of a great many singers who wanted, literally, to be heard in a way that was no longer possible on Broadway, he launched the first Broadway Unplugged, boasting 'Sound Design by God.'
