The first-ever New Works Virtual Festival kicks off tonight! Every evening from December 5th - 25th of 2020 at 8PM EST/5PM PT, the New Works Virtual Festival will stream video readings of 20 new scripts of non-musical pieces (19 plays, 1 teleplay) as well as an 21st (a 'Christmas Special') featuring the work of a diverse group of writers and all-star cast members.

Stars in the House continues tonight (8pm) with the New Works Virtual Festival with Marc Kudisch, Miguel Cervantes, Shuler Hensley, Michael Leon-Wooley, Brenda Braxton, Andy Karl, Orfeh, Ted Louis Levy, Glenn Morshower, Megan Cavanagh, Joely Fisher, Marsha Mason, Adam Jacobs, John Rubinstein, Judy Kuhn, Liz Larsen, Stuart Pankin, George Wendt, Vincent Rodriguez III, Bruce Vilanch, Leigh Ann Larkin, Carmen Cusack and Christina Bianco.

On Friday, December 4th, the New Works Virtual Festival will be featured on Stars in the House hosted by NWVF cast member Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley.

Tony and Emmy Award-winners Brian Cranston (Breaking Bad, Trumbo) and Tony Shalhoub (Monk, The Band's Visit) are among the stellar performers being brought to you by Penguin Rep Theatre as part of the exciting, innovative Keeping Live Theatre Alive! initiative. 

The New Works Virtual Festival will stream 20 new non-musical scripts every day from December 4th - 24th of 2020 (19 plays, 1 teleplay) featuring the work of a diverse group of writers and all-star cast members. A 21st piece will be selected from holiday-themed submissions to be streamed on December 25th.

Veteran Marine SSgt Dave Culmer Lauria, himself a combat Marine Veteran, presents a series of short videos of accomplished actors reading letters written by Veterans from WWII to Vietnam. These letters, written to sweethearts, wives, families, friends and war buddies about their experiences are intimate and honest. The actors read them with reverence and respect, a tribute, on Veterans Day, to the Vets who wrote them.

Laguna Playhouse announces they will live-stream a reading of the first show produced by Laguna Playhouse 100 years ago in celebration of the Playhouse’s 100th Anniversary, “Suppressed Desires,” by Susan Glaspell and George Cram Cooke.

Mile Square Theatre, Hudson County, NJ's premier professional theatre, is concluding its virtual play series entitled Given Circumstance: New Plays in the Virtual World. This weekend's slate features Hell is Other People's Zoom Weddings by Dustin Chinn and The Gentleman from Philly by Chris O'Connor.

With theaters dark nationwide, Berkshire Playwrights Lab moved to the digital realm through two partnerships: Off the Cuff with The Berkshire Museum and Keeping Live Theater Alive with the Theater5Alliance.

Mile Square Theatre of Hudson County is continuing to deliver excellent entertainment for the public. Their streaming series begins with Lia Romeo's play, 'Sitting and Talking' starring Dan Lauria and Wendy Malick.

Laguna Playhouse announced today that their virtual gala, held August 29, 2020, brought in over $320,000. The live stream of the event will be online to view through Tuesday, September 29 at lagunaplayhouse.com.     

From Sunday October 18th to Saturday the 24th, the first-ever New Works Virtual Festival (NWVF) will stream video readings of 20 new scripts featuring the work of a diverse group of writers and all-star cast members. All proceeds will be donated to the Actors Fund.

Mile Square Theatre, Hudson County, NJ's premiere professional theatre, has commissioned seven new plays written specifically for the Zoom format. The four-part series begins September 18, and runs every weekend through October 11.
