The completely original new musical comedy Something Rotten!, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Aladdin), will begin previews Monday, March 23 and officially open Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). The musical features music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Wayne Kirkpatrick and Golden Globe Award nominee Karey Kirkpatrick and a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and best-selling author John O'Farrell. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, The Actors Fund will soon present a one-night-only concert presentation of BOMBSHELL - The Marilyn Monroe musical from NBC's Golden Globe-nominated television series SMASH. The benefit for The Actors Fund is set to take place on June 8, 2015 in New York City. Star of the series, Katharine McPhee told Zap2It in a recent interview that she would return for the concert, which will also star Megan, Hilty, Anjelica Huston and Debra Messing. McPhee told Zap2It: It's going to be so fun. That was such a great, really fun -- another really special job.' (more...)
