Imelda Staunton has confirmed that a final Downton Abbey film is in the works. Written by Julian Fellowes – who wrote the book for musicals like Mary Poppins and School of Rock – Downton Abbey has starred Harry Hadden-Paton, Elizabeth McGovern, Brendan Coyle, Dan Stevens, Maggie Smith, Dominic West, and more.

Rehearsals have begun for a major new production of Conor McPherson’s acclaimed 1997 play, The Weir. Directed by Abbey Theatre Artistic Director, Caitríona McLaughlin, this production will be staged at the Abbey theatre this winter.

The film includes Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Michael Fox, Joanne Froggatt, Harry Hadden-Paton, Robert James-Collier, Allen Leech, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Tuppence Middleton, Lesley Nichol, Maggie Smith, Imelda Staunton, Penelope Wilton.

The much-anticipated cinematic return of the global phenomenon reunites the beloved cast, including Harry Hadden-Paton, Robert James-Collier, Allen Leech, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Imelda Staunton, Laura Haddock, and more.

Theatre Royal Stratford East today announces its return to live work on stage. The previously announced The Sun, The Moon, And The Stars, written by Dipo Baruwa-Etti, directed by Nadia Fall and starring Kibong Tanji, will now play from Wed 02 – Sat 19 Jun 2021.

Goodman Theatre Artistic Director Robert Falls has announced casting for his upcoming revival of Molly Sweeney by Brian Friel. In assuming the title role, Chicago favorite Kate Fry returns to the Goodman, following her recent appearance in Falls' production of The Winter's Tale. Joining Fry are stage and screen star Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey), who returns to the Goodman following his triumphant appearance in last season's St. Nicholas by Conor McPherson, and Chicago's Christopher Donahue (Oedipus Rex at Court Theatre, Moby Dick at Lookingglass).

NBC has shared a first look at their special, “Return to Downton Abbey: A Grand Event,” which is set to air Thursday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m.

Goodman Theatre presents a limited engagement of St. Nicholas-an internationally-acclaimed major revival by London's Donmar Warehouse of Conor McPherson's 1997 intimate thriller, directed by Simon Evans. The monologue play stars Olivier Award-winning actor Brendan Coyle ("Mr. Bates" of the smash sensation Downton Abbey, for which he earned an Emmy Award nomination) in "a superlative, mesmerizing performance that's simply not to be missed" (The Arts Review). 

Acclaimed actor Brendan Coyle takes the Goodman stage in Conor McPherson's thoroughly bizarre monologue play ST. NICHOLAS, which combines the innately unsettling and the supernatural. Coyle, known for his work as Mr. Bates in DOWNTON ABBEY (which this critic has admittedly never seen) proves a master at his craft in this production transferred from London's Donmar Warehouse.

The Chicago theatre community will ring in 2019 with major events, getting the Year of Chicago Theatre off to an exciting start.
