Resonance Works expands its holiday tradition for 2021 with the premiere of a new film of Engelbert Humperdinck’s beloved opera Hansel & Gretel.  The film will premiere with a live event on December 18 at 3 p.m. at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in East Liberty, and stream online beginning December 19.

The Park Theatre will air its live telethon and auction via Facebook Live and YouTube Live simultaneously this Friday, July 10, starting at 7pm, EDT. The evening will be co-hosted by Steve Jackson (Park Theatre CEO) and actor (tv, film, stage), Lisa Bostnar. The telethon and auction will help fund the final stages of the new performing arts center.

Opera Ithaca announced today its 2019 - 2020 Season, including three operas and the return of The Edward M. Murray International Competition of Voice. The season includes Giacomo Puccini's La boheme, presented as a co-production with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Pauline Viardot's Cendrillon and Le nozze di Figaro, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

 Set during WWII, On the Town follows the amorous adventures of three sailors on 24-hour shore leave in New York City.  Determined to make every minute count, the three friends set off to explore the Big Apple and to find romance - encountering colorful characters and hilarious misadventures along the way.  The revolutionary score boldly draws from diverse musical inspirations - jazz, spirituals, operetta, symphonic classicism, beautiful ballads, and catchy tunes - including the iconic songs "New York, New York," "Lonely Town," and "Some Other Time," plus a plethora of purely orchestral music.
