A couple of weeks ago, I was the stage manager of “The Golden Era”, a Tap Dance show directed by Carolina Guzmán, my tap teacher and mentor. The show managed to take the audience on a journey back in time, to a jazz club in the 40’s, with a live jazz band and tap dancers swinging along with the rhythm. Being part of this show was a big deal to me because tap is part of who I am.

Little Island, New York City’s new public park in Hudson River Park by W. 13th Street, will begin performances for the 2021 Dance Festival tomorrow, Wednesday, September 15. The percussive dance focused festival is Co-curated by Little Island Artist-in-Residence Ayodele Casel and Torya Beard and will run through Sunday, September 19.

The Chicago Human Rhythm Project’s (CHRP) 30TH ANNIVERSARY festival of American tap - RHYTHM WORLD - will present performances at the Jazz Showcase, Navy Pier’s Polk Bros Lake Stage, Black Legislators Auditorium at the DuSable Museum of African American History, and the Edlis Neeson Theater at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.

On Friday, December 4th, the New Works Virtual Festival will be featured on Stars in the House hosted by NWVF cast member Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley.
