Listening to Sylvia Brooks' album The Arrangement is a thrilling experience. Attending her live performance onstage is even more so. On Saturday October 26, Brooks brought her fascinating jazz/pop/Latin sounds to Feinstein's Upstairs at Vitello's for a sold out concert. What a pleasure to see this lovely woman dressed to the nines in an evening dress rarely worn by performers in today's circle and singing passionately with a 7 piece orchestra. Brooks poured her heart out and really had a grand time...meaning her enjoyment reached over the footlights and pulled her audience in, held on to them and never let go for 90 minutes. That in my book is a truly great performer, who leaves you begging for more.

(Steve) FEINBERG will be extended through September 29, 2019 due to popular demand and critical acclaim at Theatre West, 3333 Cahunga Boulevard West, Los Angeles, CA 90068.

StKi, LLC will present the newly envisioned World Premiere production of TO DAD WITH LOVE: A TRIBUTE TO BUDDY EBSEN, a one-woman show starring singer, songwriter, actress and recording artist, KIKI EBSEN under the direction of S.E. (Steve) FEINBERG. The show will return by popular demand for a three-week run as a Guest Production of Theatre West, 3333 Cahuenga Boulevard West, Los Angeles, CA 90068, located off of the 101 Freeway in the Cahuenga Pass, between Barham Boulevard and Lankershim Boulevard, one block down from Universal Studios. Performances will be presented September 6 - 22, 2019 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.

S.E. Feinberg will direct the touching tribute "TO DAD WITH LOVE: A TRIBUTE TO BUDDY EBSEN,"and is co-produced by Kiki Ebsen, her brother, Dustin Ebsen, and associate producer Linda L. Rand. Ward noted that Today's performance is a fund-raiser for nonprofit Theatre West, the internationally acclaimed oldest continually operating theatre company in Los Angeles. Joining Sylvia will be bass player, Gabe Davis, and her musical director, Jeff Colella on piano. ???????From Jazz Noir to Technicolor, jazz vocalist Sylvia Brooks, Tarzana resident, ?reveals a vivid array of new emotional hues on her about to be released third CD, The Arrangement, a beautifully intimate collaboration with the talents of brilliant Los Angeles arrangers. In celebration of the release, Brooks along with her arrangers will perform in concert at Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood on Wednesday, June 7 at 8:30 p.m.

When talented studio and recording musicians who also love jazz combine their talents a kind of synergy happens based on a deep understanding of music that results in a spontaneous musical conversation. This is the case when JazzTime swings the jazz standards at Vicky's. Don Shelton vocalized with the Hi-Lo's and Singers Unlimited and is amazing on clarinet, sax and flute. He recently played with Barbara Cook and the LA Phil. He worked with Clare Fischer in sessions for Prince, Michael Jackson and Robert Palmer, plus the Clare Fischer Latin Jazz Quintet and Bob Florence band. Tom Keenlyside's sax and flute playing have been featured at major jazz festivals and with many of the biggest names in the music business: Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr., Natalie Cole, Dizzy Gillespie, Mel Torme and Tom Jones. He has been inducted into the B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame. Drummer Allen Goodman brings years of experience from NY's supper clubs to Carnegie Hall to NBC TV as a performer and studio drummer, as well as accompanying singers such as Dinah Shore, Johnny Mathis, Peggy Lee, Liza Minnelli, Vikki Carr, Bobby Troup, Billie Holiday & others. Larry Holloway, the Desert's go-to bassist, brings depth of experience and a unique approach to bass as exemplified by virtuoso bassist Red Mitchell and, in fact, was the first recipient of the 'Red Mitchell Scholarship Award.' Regular pianists such as Josh Nelson, Barney McClure, Chip Smith, Andy Langham, Joe Bagg, Jeff Colella and others bring their distinctive musical gifts to the group.
