MARC ANTOINE

Guitarist, composer and producer, Marc Antoine is the next artist to perform in the King Center's Studio Theatre Intimate Concert Series. Antoine's career boasts many #1 hits on the R&R contemporary jazz charts, as well as topping the billboard charts. In 1995, R&R elected him best new artist of the year, which was followed by his Gavin Award in1998,a Latin Grammy for best instrumental song in 2005 and the international artist of the year at the Chicago Jazz awards in 2010. He has also received numerous nominations for jazz awards in the US and Canada. Regularly touring with contemporary jazz artists like Dave Koz, Chris Botti, Jeff Lorber, Jeffrey Osborn, Phillipe Saisse, Brian Simpson and others, he also performs or records with jazz legends such as Peter Erskine, Jimmy Haslip, Mike Mainieri, Dave Valentin, Christian McBride and Mark Egan to name a few.

Five-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and 2012 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Mary Chapin Carpenter will embark on a unique series of intimate, acoustic performances this fall. The tour markets Carpenter's return to singing both timeless hits and deep cuts from her expansive and beloved 13-album catalog after performing with orchestras in early 2014. Carpenter will be joined on stage by longtime friends Jon Carroll (piano) and John Doyle (guitars, bouzouki). Over the course of her career, Carpenter has sold over 13 million records. With hits such as "Passionate Kisses and "He Thinks He'll Keep Her" she has won five Grammy Awards (with 15 nominations), two CMA awards and two Academy of Country Music awards for her vocals.

Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, this oddball romantic comedy - considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy - soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters who have become legends in the canon: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," out to reform the evildoers of Times Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game.
