New York Rep, in association with The Present Company as part of the 17th Annual New York International Fringe Festival present the World Premiere of David Don Miller's WHY YOU BEASTING? - a gripping new play that explores the chaos of a NYC public school through the eyes of a first-year teacher. WHY YOU BEASTING? will be presented at the Flamboyan Theater at the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural & Educational Center (Fringe Venue #2 - 107 Suffolk Street) Lower East Side.

Inspired by playwright David Don Miller's time spent as a teacher in the New York City Public School system, the darkly comic new play WHY YOU BEASTING? explores the chaos of one of the most notorious schools in the Bronx through the eyes of an idealistic first-year teacher. * WARNING * this play softens no blows, censors no language, and makes no apologies for its portrayal of students, teachers or school administrators.

Directed by NewYorkRep Artistic Director Markus Potter, the cast of WHY YOU BEASTING? is Shane Zeigler, Fletcher Shepley-McTaggart (last seen on Broadway in "Leap of Faith"), Doug Trapp ("Silence! The Musical"), Susanna Guzman ("La luz de un cigarillo"), Desiree Rodriguez ("Tricks The Devil Taught Me"), Corwin Tuggles (last seen on Broadway in "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!"), Nicolette Ellis, Camille St. James, Jay Horton, Ann-Kathryne Mills, Jon E, María Pietranera, Paulina Ruiz, Gonzalo Trigueros. Megan Merrick, Taylor Carter-Jones, and Dennis Abenanty.

The production and design team for WHY YOU BEASTING? is David Goldstein (scenic and lighting design), Sarafina Bush (costume design), Craig Rosenthal (production stage manager), Dan Irwin (producer) and Perry Poussard Jr. (associate producer).
