Maria Wojciechowki's one-woman show, ALMOST A GENIUS, will make it's New York City debut as part of Frigid New York. The production is directed by Natalie Shipman.

Maria Wojciechowski suffers from bipolar disorder and panic attacks, so she did what any other crazy person would do, she wrote a comedy show about it. In ALMOST A GENIUS, Maria invites you into her mind through storytelling, music, dance, and a colorful cast of characters.

Maria Wojciecowski has been performing sketch, stand up and improv comedy in Chicago since 2009. She has trained at The Second City, iO Chicago, and The Annoyance, and has performed at Zanies, Laugh Factory Chicago, Chicago Underground Comedy and iO Chicago. Previous festivals include Chicago Sketchfest, Chicago Women's Funny Festival, and Laughingstock Comedy Festival.

Natalie Shipman discovered improv and sketch comedy at the University of Florida, Since moving to Chicago, she has trained, performed and taught at ComedySportz Chicago and The Second City. Abroad, she has performed with ImprovAcadia (Maine), aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL Spirit), and with The Second City Touring Company (everywhere).Directing credits include many independent improv teams around Chicago and The Nerdologues sketch comedy.

ALMOST A GENIUS will play at Under St. Marks on Friday, February 21 at 7:05pm, Wednesday, February 26 at 8:40pm, Saturday, March 1 at 5:15pm, Sunday, March 2 at 12:30pm, Monday, March 3 at 10:15pm, and Friday, March 7 at 5:30pm.
