The 13th Street Repertory - as part of its Rep-Resurgence - has reimagined its flagship production, LINE, the longest-running play in Manhattan and the longest-running Off-Off-Broadway show [ever], with a 21st Century twist.

Since 1974, LINE has been a staple of the 13th Street Rep and now, under the direction of Jacqueline Wade, and artistic director, Susan Merson, the play returns with a young vibrant cast reflecting how the world and its social mores have changed since the 70s.

A diverse multi-racial cast will give new meaning to Israel Horovitz's ageless parable. The revolving cast includes: Tony Del Bono, Damion Rochester, Danquai Draughon, Eric Willingham, Christopher Augustin, Ricky Goldman, Jeremy Horton, Melissa Denize, Maritza Hernandez, Lisa G, Etemanda Fudge, and Marcus Brandon.

Ms. Wade will also host workshops and talkbacks on the issues brought up in Mr. Horovitz's absurdist masterpiece. The 1967 one-act play by Israel Horovitz, his first play produced. It is an absurdist drama about five people waiting in line for an unknown event and their struggle to be first on this hypothetical line.

In honor of this new regeneration of the play - and Edith O'Hara, 13th Street Repertory's Artistic Director Emeritus, turning 99 - LINE is creating an "on-LINE" campaign inviting back any and all actors who've appeared in LINE at 13th Street to share in the festivities. A special section of the 13th Street website will include short videos of the artist's memories of the play which will be shown "on-LINE." Maybe some can be coaxed back on stage for a special showing.

The alumni names are vast and familiar - including LINE being Richard Dreyfuss' first play. Were you in it? Do you wanna be? Wanna see it? Go to www.13thstreetrep.org for more information.
