Theater for the New City presents the World Premiere of WINK, a new play by Neil Koenigsberg, directed by Ron Beverly, running through May 7. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

WINK, a homeless and traumatized gender questioning teenager, and Dario Villanova, an ex-A list actor doing B movies, are down on their luck in Los Angeles. Their kindred spirits bond over music and a death in Dario's extended family to forge a heartfelt and unconventional love story of surrogate father and child.

WINK stars (in alphabetical order) Joshua De Jesus ("Runaways" at City Center Encores!), Joe Isenberg (2013 Helen Hayes winner in his NY debut), Joe Maruzzo ("The Cherry Orchard" at Actors Studio with Ellen Burstyn, "Henry V" with Kevin Kline at the Public), Jose Joaquin Perez (Drama Desk nominee for "My Manana Comes") and Nikole Williams. The General Management Company for WINK is 22Q Entertainment helmed by Robert Levinstein and Alan Wager.

The play comes out of a successful development at The Actors Studio Playwright/Directors Unit where Koenigsberg and Beverly first met. Subsequent readings in July 2016 under the auspices of Woodie King Jr. and his New Federal Theater have now led to this production.

Performances are Thursday - Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm at heater for the New City, located at 155 First Avenue at 10th Street - accessible from the L at 14th Street, F at 2nd Avenue, 6 at Astor Place or N/R at 8th Street. Tickets are $18 at 212-868-4444 or www.theaterforthenewcity.net.
