Theaters Comment About BWW NJ AWARDS

This award season, there were an unprecedented number of votes cast for BroadwayWorld.com annual awards in more than 75 regions worldwide. The New Jersey awards focused on professional theatre, the actors, and the creative teams that make Garden State performances outstanding.

Paper Mill Playhouse received 7 of the 17 awards. Shayne Austin Miller, Director of Press and Public Relations for the Playhouse commented, "Paper Mill Playhouse is both humbled and honored to receive seven BroadwayWorld Awards this season. These awards are a gift from the audiences and students we serve throughout the region."

Performers and venues were honored throughout the state. "Best Actress" in a professional production was awarded to Liza Vann for her performance as Vivacity in New Jersey Repertory Company's production of Iago written by James McClure and directed by the Company's Artistic Director, Suzanne Barabas. Barabas commented, "We are blessed in having wonderful talent gracing our stage throughout the year, and are very proud of Liza's recognition as Best Actress."
