Winnie Holzman and Paul Dooley will perform in One of Your Biggest Fans at the George Street Playhouse (GSP) in New Brunswick from January 28th to February 23rd. It will truly be a first for this famous couple who has been married for 30 years. This project is unique to both of them; an opportunity to work together performing the play that they have also written. This is their first full length collaboration.

Directed by Larry Biederman, One of Your Biggest Fans explores the surprising connections between four very different characters - Frank, a beloved soap opera star facing an uncertain future; Emily, his former makeup artist and longtime girlfriend; Edgar, a curmudgeon who feels abandoned in his assisted living facility; and Heather, Edgar's unfulfilled, unmarried daughter who is Frank's biggest fan. It is a funny and touching look at the ways we can change each other's lives, sometimes without even knowing it.

Holzman is well known for co-writing the book for Wicked with Stephen Schwartz and many television projects including thirtysomething and My So-Called Life.

Dooley, dubbed "America's Dad" is well-known to film audiences with credits including Breaking Away, Sixteen Candles, Hairspray and Waiting for Guffman as well as recurring roles on multiple television shows.

We had a chance to chat with Holzman and Dooley about their professional life and their upcoming New Jersey premiere. While Holzman has been an actress throughout her career, she says that this will be the biggest part she has ever played. She commented, "This play has plenty of laughter and yet it captures the way people really are." Dooley also commented on the genuine elements in the show. He stated, "People in life purposefully or accidently effect each other's actions. We can change people's lives for the better."

Both Holzman and Dooley are pleased with their team at George Street Playhouse. Holzman called the group "wonderful " and complimented the "positive energy." Dooley who has performed there before in The Sunshine Boys said, "They are cooperative like a good family, willing to bend over backwards with a helpful focus."

Both Dooley and Holzman agree that writing and performing One of Your Biggest Fans is an exciting time for them and they are looking forward to sharing the show with metropolitan area audiences.

Tickets for One of Your Biggest Fans begin at $28 may be purchased at the George Street Playhouse Box Office, 732-246-7717, or through The Playhouse website: www.GSPonline.org.
