Seacoast Repertory Theatre's PIRATES OF PENZANCE to Run 6/13-7/19
Not often seen on Seacoast stages, Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance is as wacky, irreverent and as entertaining today as it was when it first opened to acclaim in 1879. The story spins a hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the often-ridiculous dictates of honor and duty.
This terrific musical features an all-star cast, including Trevor Worden (who recently appeared as Claude in Hair) as Frederic, Christine Dulong (2013 Spotlight Award Winner - Best Actress in a Musical for Sweeney Todd) as Ruth, and Seacoast Rep Artistic Director, Craig Faulkner as the Pirate King.
The Pirates of Penzance runs June 13 - July 19. Performances on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
