Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) presents the area premiere of Aaron Sorkin's The Farnsworth Invention to open its 64th season in weekend performances September 11 through October 4.

It's 1929. Two visionaries - a ruthless media mogul and a self-taught Idaho farm boy - race against each other to complete their invention. Which one will unlock the key to one of the most important developments of the century - who will invent television? A compelling new play from Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing, The Newsroom and The Social Network.

Arena veteran Lynn Musgrave directs the 20-member cast in a series of fast-moving scenes, featuring Mark L. Mattison as David Sarnoff and Pierce Huxtable as Philo T. Farnsworth. Sets are designed by Michael Hoover, costumes by John A. Woskoff, lighting by Andrew C. Kedl, sound by Lynn Musgrave, and projections by Matthew Vichlach.

An audience discussion with members of the company will follow the matinee performance on Sunday, September 20.

Tickets are $22. For information, call the theatre's box office at 612-333-3010 or visit its website at www.TheatreintheRound.org.
