The Road Theatre Company and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, announce the third show of its 2015-2016 - 25th Anniversary Season, the World Premiere of THE MONGOOSE, written by Will Arbery and directed by Michael Thomas-Visgar.

THE MONGOOSE begin previews on Monday, February 22 at 8pm; will open on Thursday, February 25 at 8pm and run through Sunday, April 17th at the Road Theatre Company's second home, the Road on Magnolia, located in The NoHo Senior Arts Colony, 10747 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.

A family in Dallas may or may not have a talking mongoose living in their walls. Kay Bailey tries to hold her family together as Mom goes missing, Dad brings home strange men, Joe grows violent, and Maddy talks to the mongoose, whose name is Jeff. Because here's the thing about Jeff: Jeff listens, Jeff hears...Jeff knows.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST:

WILL ARBERY (Playwright) is a playwright and filmmaker. who earned his MFA in Writing for the Screen + Stage from Northwestern University. He was named one of Variety's "110 Students to Watch." He's part of the Early Career Writers Group at Clubbed Thumb, and the Kendeda finalist group at the ALLIANCE THEATRE. In 2014, he was a Theater Masters MFA fellow and a winner of the Samuel French OOB Festival with his play The Logic. His plays have been developed or produced at Dixon Place, #serials at The Flea, the NEWvember Festival, Communal Spaces, Calliope Theatre Company, iDiOM Theater, Chicago Dramatists, American Theater Company, Hearth Gods, and more. His play We Were Nothing! was a Flavorpill Editor's Pick and was featured by TDF Stages. He's a member of boomerang dance, and was in residence with them at the Watermill Center this winter. He grew up in Dallas, TX, the only boy among seven sisters.

Michael Thomas-VISGAR (Director) is an LA based Actor/Director. Michael graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in Theatre & Media Production and an emphasis in Acting & Directing. Michael most recently directed Thenardier's Inn a parody re-telling of Les Miserables in which he also played Jean Valjean. Other directing credits include, The Mongoose (Staged Reading), It's a Wonderful Life, The Backpack, A Liar Paradox (Staged Reading), WASP, The Glass Menagerie, My Spiritual Autobiography, Melissa Arctic (Assistant Director) and a two man production of Hamlet set in a prison cell on Death Row. Michael has worked on the last 3 Summer Playwrights Festivals at The Road Theatre where plays like The Mongoose are able to get their start.

The cast of THE MONGOOSE features: Blaire Chandler, Michael Dempsey, Dirk Etchison, Arielle Fodor, Kevin Shipp and Hannah Mae Sturges.

The design team for THE MONGOOSE is as follows: Set Design by Chad Dellinger; Lighting Design by Derrick McDaniel; Sound Design by Joseph "Sloe" Slawinski; Costume Design by Michele Young; Original Music Composes by Daniel Sugimoto; Props Design by Bettina Zacar; The Stage Manager is Maurie Gonzalez. THE MONGOOSE is produced by Donald Russell.

THE MONGOOSE will preview on Monday, February 22; Tuesday, February 23 & Wednesday, February 24 at 8pm; will open on Thursday, February 25 at 8pm and run through Sunday, April 17th at the Road Theatre Company's second home, the Road on Magnolia, located in The NoHo Senior Arts Colony, 10747 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.

Performances are Thursdays at 8pm; Saturdays at 3pm and Sundays at 7pm. Ticket prices are $34; Students and Seniors are $17.50; Previews are $15.00.
