The La Jolla Playhouse celebrated their 60th anniversary, as well as a tribute to Director Emeritus Des McAnuff, on December 8 with a very special "Diamonds Are Forever" gala and reception.

"The evening featured the Red Dirt Band and other surprise guests, who treated patrons to a once-in-a-lifetime performance as they drank, ate and danced the night away in the fantasy landscape that transformed the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Center," explained press notes, "Chaired by long-time Playhouse supporter, board member and past gala chair Debby Jacobs, the gala directly benefited The Playhouse's new play development and award-winning education programs, ensuring that The Playhouse will continue to bring adventurous work to San Diego and The National Theatre scene."
