The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Stephen Eich, Executive Director) congratulate SISTER ACT and BABY IT'S YOU! for receiving six 2011 Tony Award nominations. Both productions had their world premieres at The Pasadena Playhouse - SISTER ACT in October, 2006 and BABY IT'S YOU! in November, 2009.

"I am very, very proud that these new musicals which were nurtured and premiered here at The Playhouse have received substantial recognition in this year's Tony Award field." said Artistic Director Sheldon Epps. "Developing new work which is intended to have a future life is a vital part of the mission of any important American theatre. We have had the good fortune to do that on several occasions, and will continue this important work in the future - including our upcoming production of TWIST, a new musical, and several projects either scheduled or under consideration for next season. Congratulations to all of the nominees."

"It is an honor for the Broadway community to have nominated two productions that had their origins at The Pasadena Playhouse." stated Executive Director Stephen Eich. "This recognition reinforces our desire to be a theatrical destination in Southern California."
