Miranda Wright, a Los Angeles-based producer of experimental theatre, has been selected as the recipient of Center Theatre Group's 2014 Richard E. Sherwood Award.

Created in memory of Richard E. Sherwood, the $10,000 award provides financial support for innovative and adventurous emerging theatre artists living and working in Los Angeles.

"The Sherwood Award nourishes the work of artists who push boundaries, and Miranda's incredibly innovative style of producing fits beautifully with the goal of the award," said Michael Ritchie, CTG Artistic Director.

Wright is an independent theatre producer and the founding executive director of Los Angeles Performance Practice (LAPP), an infrastructure and artists' network comprised of independent artists and companies who create groundbreaking theatrical experiences through innovative approaches to collaboration, technology and social engagement.
