A town hall event will be held at the Los Angeles Theatre Center (LATC) for members of the greater Los Angeles theatre community on Monday, August 22, from 7:30-9:30pm. The purpose of the meeting is to examine the real-life consequences on LA's cultural ecosystem when Actors' Equity Association's new plan (which will eliminate the 99-Seat Plan) is put into place on December 14, 2016

An earlier press release incorrectly stated that the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs and the Center for Cultural Innovation would be co-hosting the town hall with LA Stage Alliance. However, this event is being hosted by LA Stage Alliance at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, which is operated by the Latino Theatre Company. LA Stage Alliance regrets the error.

"This town hall is something we've been contacted about repeatedly by LA theatre-makers," said LA Stage Alliance Executive Director, Steven Leigh Morris. "We recognize this as a critical time for many of our 99-seat members and colleagues, and it's our priority to provide them with the platform to convene and disperse information as needed." He continued, "This is not a rally for or against any group's agenda, but a conversation in search of a fruitful outcome to this dispute that takes everybody's interests into account, including those of Actors' Equity."

LATC is located at 514 S. Spring Street in downtown Los Angeles. Attendance is free, but RSVPs are required. RSVP at lastagealliance.com/calendar.

This town hall is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs, the Center for Cultural Innovation, and other funders.
