Carole W. Nussbaum, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cabrillo Music Theatre, is pleased to announce the addition of a seventh performance of Irving Berlin'S WHITE CHRISTMAS, dedicated to our active military. This performance, designated as "A Holiday Salute to the Military," will take place on Tuesday, December 29th, at 7:00PM. Cabrillo's production of Irving Berlin'S WHITE CHRISTMAS, created exclusively for the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, Bank of America Performing Arts Center, will open on Saturday, December 26th, 2009 and run for only seven performances, through Tuesday, December 29th, in the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.

"A Holiday Salute to the Military" continues an ongoing relationship between Cabrillo Music Theatre and the military. Each year, during the holiday season, Cabrillo Music Theatre has produced a "U.S.O.-style" variety show to entertain the troops of the Naval Base Ventura County. Featuring stars from many of Cabrillo's productions, these free-of-charge variety shows have played to packed houses of the military and their families, many of whom would soon be separated by new assignments after the holidays. With overflow crowds at the naval base, Cabrillo Music Theatre's President and the Port Hueneme Commanding Officer, Captain McHugh, have joined forces to accommodate the larger crowds by bringing the military to the Kavli Theatre. December 29th will mark the first time that the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza has added a performance to its calendar as a tribute to the military.

"A trio of forces - Cabrillo Music Theatre, the City of Thousand Oaks with its City Council, and the Naval Base of Ventura County - have joined forces to bring this joyous event to our troops," says Carole W. Nussbaum. "We wanted to give our brave men and women of the military a very special holiday gift. It will be a moving occasion to see hundreds of our active military filing in to the theatre that evening." Continues Nussbaum, "Irving Berlin'S WHITE CHRISTMAS, with its Academy Award-winning title song and its memorable military backdrop, is the perfect show to present to our military families."

"A Holiday Salute to the Military" marks the closing night performance of Cabrillo's production of Irving Berlin'S WHITE CHRISTMAS. The Naval Base has arranged for busses to transport thr troops from the base to the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. A limited number of orchestra seats will be available for purchase by the public.

Irving Berlin'S WHITE CHRISTMAS features Cabrillo stars from SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, David Engel and Randy Rogel (2008 Ovation Award winner, Best Supporting Actor), reuniting in the roles made famous by Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. Joining them will be Jennifer Mathews, of Cabrillo's CAROUSEL, and Cassie Silva, star of last season's 42ND STREET. Directed by Todd Nielsen, with Musical Direction by Darryl Archibald, and Choreography by Melissa Giattino (based on the original Broadway choreography of Randy Skinner), Irving Berlin'S WHITE CHRISTMAS is perfect for families and is recommended for audiences of all ages.
