Farmingdale's new year-round theater opened last weekend with 'Arsenic and Old Lace' to great excitement! The Village of Farmingdale now has something it has wanted for some time: a year-round theater.

Executive Producer, Joe DiPietro, is a playwright and actor. Artistic Director, Eva Dolan, has spent her life in the theater. Daniel Petersen-Snyder, of St Thomas, has designed the elegant set. Together they are working with St Thomas' Pastor, Mother Christina Petersen-Snyder, to create Hardscrabble Theater.

'Arsenic' Director, Evan Donnellan, is well known for his Summer Shakespeare productions at the Vanderbilt Mansion, the Arena Players and the Minstrel Players. Hardscrabble Theater has assembled a fine cast of seasoned performers and professionals for the first presentation.

The establishment of the theater is the culmination of five years of work for Dolan and DiPietro, and the theater, behind St. Thomas Episcopal Church, a short walk from Main Street, as well as the LIRR, makes it the perfect location for a theater.

Reservations, as well as before theater dinner and brunch packages at CaraCara Mexican Grill on Main Street, are available through the website: www.hardscrabbletheater.com or by calling (516) 586-3930 Tickets may be purchased using checks or cash at the door.

Please contact Hardscrabble Theater for more information about this exciting adventure in high quality theater!
