The Rudy Foundation, dedicated to its mission of providing support and recognition to individuals aspiring to fulfill their dreams, has announced that its 2013 initiative will focus on supporting youth in the performing arts. Honoring this year's goal, the foundation will provide support, awareness and funding for various youth performing arts programs throughout Las Vegas.

"My goal is to make a positive impact in the lives of both children and adults by sponsoring programs in the community for education, sports and the performing arts, providing scholarships, and recognizing them through the Rudy Awards scholarship program," said Cheryl Ruettiger, founder and executive director of the Rudy Foundation. "This year, I am proud to announce that we're doing a big push to help support the performing arts here in the community."

Kicking off its 2013 performing arts initiative, the Rudy Foundation is helping to support and promote Broadway Bound, a program at Studio One's Summerlin Dance Academy, which will be putting on performances of Little Women, a musical based on the legendary book by Louisa May Alcott, Feb. 8 - 16 at the Summerlin Library Theater. Tickets are on sale now at www.broadwayboundlv.com.

The Rudy Foundation also recently announced Master of the House, a showcase of ensemble musical theater talent, which will showcase productions performed by local high schools and theater groups all competing to earn scholarship funds to be awarded to their performing arts programs. "One of my biggest passions in life is helping children to become the best they can be," said Ruettiger, who also produced the short film This Is My Dream. "All of my experiences with America's talented youth have culminated in my passion for giving kids the chance to dream big and realize those dreams. My dream for this year is to build a theater where Las Vegas youth can come together to rehearse, perform and put on great shows for the community."

Also committed to supporting youth in education and sports, the Rudy Foundation has worked since 1997 with outstanding students to support their dreams in those efforts. From supporting dance events, 5k races, soccer competitions, spelling bees and countless other scholarship opportunities, the Rudy Foundation, like the youth it supports, dreams big and hopes to help as many kids as possible realize their dreams, too.

The Rudy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the support and recognition of those who aspire to fulfill their dreams through character, courage, contribution and commitment. For more information, visit www.rudyinternational.com.
