A married couple with Broadway credentials will take to the stage at Lincoln Amphitheatre this summer, playing President Abraham Lincoln and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln.

Husband and wife actors Geoffrey Wade and Amelia White will move to southern Indiana from Los Angeles for the summer to star in this season's LINCOLN: Upon the Altar of Freedom.

Last year, Wade portrayed President Lincoln in the premiere season of LINCOLN. His credentials include television shows such as Numb3rs, ER, Law & Order, Scrubs, Brothers & Sisters, The King of Queens, and Monk.

Wade's Broadway credits include Translations and An American Daughter. Off-Broadway credits include Twelve Dreams, Golden Child and the acclaimed Private Jokes, Public Places. At Vermont's Weston Playhouse he performed leading roles in Big River, "ART", and Private Lives. Wade has been awarded the LA Weekly award, the Back Stage West award and an Ovation nomination for his work in Los Angeles theatre.

White's television credits include Judging Amy, The Young and the Restless, and The Seige of Golden Hill. She performed in the Broadway performance of Crazy for You, which received the 1992 Tony Award for Best Musical. Her other performances include the off-Broadway production of Accrington Pals and the regional production of And a Nightingale Sang.

She received the Theatre World award for her performances in the off-Broadway production of Accrington Pals. She is also nominated for a 2010 Audie Award for a book-on-tape version of Canterbury Tales.

Wade and White met while they were both students at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England.

LINCOLN will take the stage for its second season at 1,500-seat Lincoln Amphitheatre on June 18, 2010, and will run nightly with the exception of Mondays until August 7. The non-profit Lincoln Amphitheatre is supported in part by individual and corporate donations. The "Lincoln's Legacy Lives" fundraising campaign is underway to help fund the second season's production of LINCOLN, a two-act play with music by playwright Ken Jones.
