"The Life and Times of Lilly the Lash", the popular series of children's books by acclaimed author Julie
Woik, comes to life in a new and entertaining musical production. A limited run has been scheduled to allow South Florida fans to preview the stage version this summer, prior to its official launch this fall. The show will run August 7-9 at Fort Lauderdale Main Library. This original production is a wonderful introduction to live theater for young audiences and promotes literacy and reading while teaching valuable life lessons.

The first book in the series, The Garden Gathering, has been adapted for this stage production by Advanced Productions & Entertainment, Inc. of Hallandale, Florida. The story is told through song and dance by the bold and colorful life-size characters that engage the audience throughout the performance, frequently encouraging their participation. The character-building message of self-worth and timeless life lessons appeal to people of all ages, particularly young children who will be delighted and fascinated by the cast of characters led by Lilly the Lash herself.

Lilly the Lash's mission takes place in a garden, where a big beautiful sunflower struggles with her size, and is unable to recognize the importance of her own self-worth. Lilly sends in a troupe of garden friends, including a tiny soccer-playing spider, to help Sunny realize that no matter what our differences...we ALL have value!

Tickets are $5 in advance or $8.00 at the door. For advanced tickets, visit www.advancedevents.com.
