Mid-Michigan's newest professional theatre company, Williamston Theatre, located at 122 S. Putnam in downtown Williamston, kicks of 2010 with the wickedly fun The Smell of the Kill by Michele Lowe. The show opens February 12 and runs thru March 7. Tickets for this 90-minute comedy about marriage in the modern world are now on sale.

The Smell of the Kill begins with five Preview performances starting Thursday, February 4. During the first four Previews audience members will have the opportunity to take part in the process of creating a show by participating in a talkback session with the director following each performance. The Official Opening Night is Friday, February 12 with the show scheduled to run through Sunday, March 7. Performances will run Thursday and Friday evenings at eight o'clock, Saturday matinees at three o'clock and evenings at eight o'clock, and Sunday matinees at two o'clock. Please note there will be no three o'clock performances on Saturday, February 6.

What really goes on in the kitchen when the women are cleaning up after dinner? Find out how a regular monthly dinner party turns into something more. With social commentary both hilarious and biting, this dark comedy about men, women, marriage and malice explores the dangerous desire to keep up appearances... at any cost. Contains mature themes.

The cast consists of Laura Croff as Debra, Teri Clark Linden (Flap, Leaving Iowa) as Molly and Emily Sutton-Smith (The Effect of Gamma Rays, Maidens, Mothers and Crones) as Nicky. Kristine Thatcher is the Director. The production team includes set & lights by Daniel C. Walker (The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)), costumes by Karen Kangas-Preston, sound by Ken Faulk (Flyover, USA: Voices from Men of the Midwest) and props by Lynn Lammers (An Infinite Ache). The Stage Manager is Erin K. Snyder.

Tickets are Pay-What-You-Can for Thursday, February 4. Remaining Preview tickets are $15.00! Starting Opening Night, tickets prices are $24.00 on Friday and Saturday evenings, $20.00 on weekend matinees and $18.00 on Thursday evenings. Discounted rates are available for groups of 10 or more for most performances. Tickets can be ordered by calling (517) 655-SHOW (7469), Monday - Friday from 12 - 6pm. Williamston Theatre patrons will find ample parking on the street and in several municipal lots throughout the city.
