With more than 50 original productions between them, Mike McGettigan and Shawn Handlon, two of Detroit's most prolific writers, have come together for another original premiere at Planet Ant. In See You Next Doomsday, Oliver finds himself stranded on a nightmarish future Earth. He must fend off cannibals, racist robots and bloodthirsty mermen in order to escape a dying planet aboard the spaceship of a friendly alien named Richard Gere. See You Next Doomsday premieres at Planet Ant Friday, April 10 and continues through Saturday, May 2. Featuring Jade Fearn (Hamtramck), Shawn Handlon (Harper Woods), Michael Hovitch (Ferndale), Moni Jones (Northville) and Mike McGettigan (Dearborn), this post-apocalyptic road comedy is directed by Lauren Bickers (Hamtramck). Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00pm, and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm on April 19 and 26. Throughout this season on select Saturday evenings, Planet Ant will present a late night show featuring a rotating schedule of improvisation. Tickets are $5 at the door.
The Planet Ant Improv Colony has generated over twenty original comedies and continues to perform every Monday night in Michigan's longest-running improv comedy show - Improv Mondays. At 8:00 pm the show kicks off with a guest improv troupe followed by a performance by Planet Ant's resident Home Team. The night closes with The Ant Jam, an opportunity for anyone to improvise on the Planet Ant stage. Tickets are $5 at the door.Videos
