For nearly 15 years, Go Comedy! Improv Theater has been a cornerstone of improv and sketch comedy in metro Detroit. From impacting the lives of more than 1,000 students in Go U! The Improv Academy to being the home of hundreds of improvisers, Go Comedy! has positively influenced Metro Detroit and beyond.

Planet Ant Presents: Ant Planet! is a late-night style talk show filmed monthly in front of a live studio audience. Each monthly showcase is hosted by Darren Shelton and features musicians, comedians, writers, directors, and other creatives alongside interviews with artists and community leaders about events and initiatives from the Planet Ant community and the greater Detroit area.

Planet Ant presents a remounted production of Armchair Dating, written by Planet Ant Home Team Co-Founder Margaret Edwartowski and directed by Kaitlyn Valor Bourque. Originally premiering in the former Planet Ant Black Box Theater in 2015, this current production has been updated for a modern audience and expanded to the stage at Ant Hall, just in time for Valentine Season!

Planet Ant Theatre presents, Ant Planet, a new streaming late-night style talk show and digital showcase sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon which will be recorded live in front of an audience in the Ant Hall on June 22, 2022 at 8 pm, followed by BarProv in the Ghost Light Bar at 10 pm.

Planet Ant Theatre is returning to the stage, opening its doors on Sept. 13 for Monday Night Improv, Detroit's longest-running improv show. The 28-year-old non-profit theater and arts organization is finally returning to in-person audiences after shuttering its doors on March 13, 2020 for the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Planet Ant would like to welcome Daniel Jackson to his new role as president of the Planet Ant Board of Directors, and congratulate Dave Davies and Lauren Bickers on their return to their previously held positions as secretary and treasurer, respectively. Darren Shelton will remain our Executive Director.

Planet Ant Theatre is thrilled to announce the double-premiere of two all-original one-act comedies from longtime-established writers and performers in the metro Detroit theatre community. A Summer Double Feature presents "Death by Chocolate" (written by and starring Joe Hingelberg and Travis Pelto; directed by Brian Lark) and "Fatal Erection" (written by & featuring Lauren Bickers, Dave Davies, Shawn Handlon, & Scott Sanford; also featuring Kelly Rossi; directed by Dave Davies). Hingelberg, Pelto, Bickers, Davies, and Handlon are all active members of the Planet Ant Improv Colony Home Team; Sanford is a member of the Planet Ant resident sketch troupe, the Ant Hall Players; Rossi is a longtime Planet Ant playwright (He Said Yes, contributing member of the Planet Ant Sketch Writers Group), actor (Yes Weed Can), and the Executive Director of Boxfest Detroit. Together, these legendary performers are teaming up to bring the best of their combined talents to Planet Ant's three-week run in the Black Box Theater.

Planet Ant Theatre continues their high-speed 25th season with another installment of the new Black Box Double Feature Series. The holiday block features two all-original one-acts guaranteed to lighten hearts & lift spirits this holiday season.

This month, Go Comedy! is proud to present three original events featuring improvisers from the areas' diverse communities. Represent!, Female Hysteria, and TRUE COLORS: Come out and Play will appear on Wednesdayevenings at 9:00pm. In addition, the award-winning improv theater will welcome its newest original comedy Swine and Potato, Thursday nights while continuing its popular BITS improv tournament for the summer. Theater professionals from across Michigan will gather Aug. 28 when The 2017 Wilde Awards are presented at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts in the Detroit suburb of West Bloomfield.
