Planet Ant Theatre will celebrate the new year with a 4-performance return of the critically acclaimed, popular show Bringing Up Baby New Year December 26, 27, 29 and 31. Tickets ($10) are on sale now at www.planetant.com.

Bringing Up Baby New Year was called "One of the most original seasonal shows ever" by Encoremichigan.com when it premiered in 2012. After an encore engagement last season, Planet Ant is bringing the show back by popular demand.

It's never easy to live life in the spotlight, always being fodder for the tabloids and the subject of public scrutiny. It's all the more complicated when your life is only 12 months long. This one act comedy chronicles the life and often tumultuous times of a typical Baby New Year, as he yearns to put his mark on time, all while struggling with puberty, a mid-life crisis and old age--each within months of the other. Directed by Shawn Handlon (Harper Woods), Bringing Up Baby New Year is written by Dyan Bailey, Lauren Bickers, Dave Davies, Handlon and Mike McGettigan. This year's engagement will feature McGettigan (Dearborn) reprising his role as Baby New Year with Jaclynn Cherry (Ferndale), Katy Kujala (Novi) and Sean McGettigan (Dearborn).

Bringing Up Baby New Year appears for just four performances at 9:00 pm; Friday, December 26; Saturday, December 27; Monday, December 29 and Wednesday, December 31. Tickets ($10) are on sale now at www.planetant.com.

Late Night Saturdays & Improv Mondays

Throughout this season on select Saturday evenings, Planet Ant will present a late night show featuring a rotating schedule of improvisation. Tickets are $5 at the door.
