A Radioactive Comedy NEON PSALMS runs through Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays thru July 16

Carolina Actors Studio Theatre opens its new space with the radioactive comedy NEON PSALMS by Thomas Strelich.

The play features Luton Mears, who has retired from the borax mine and is now obsessed with his pet turtles and TV re-runs of Bonanza. His wife Patina has buried herself in the Bible with a particular focus on the Psalms. Their divorced daughter, Barbara, has moved back home and seems bent on an affair with the gas delivery man, Propane Ray. They all live in a tiny little trailer in the middle of the California desert where it's stifling hot in the day, bone chilling cold at night, and the sky glows from decades of nuclear weapons testing.
