2015 promises to be a momentous year for Davidson Community Players as they celebrate the 50th Anniversary of their first show.

"We're very excited about our 2015 season, our 50th year of producing high quality theater in the Lake Norman region," says Matt Merrell, Executive Director of Davidson Community Players. "We're presenting a great mix of entertainment for this season with intimate shows and a Broadway blockbuster, a little something for everyone."

Season Tickets are on sale now. A Full Main Stage Season Ticket for an adult is $95 and a Main Stage Pick 3 Season Ticket for adults is $63. Connie Company Season Tickets are $25 for any age. New for the 2015 Main Stage season is theatrical-style seating at Armour Street Theatre, a return to two shows at Duke Family Performance Hall during the popular Summer Series, reserved seating benefits for season tickets holders and donors, plus a year-long celebration of their 50th Anniversary.

The 2015 Davidson Community Players 50th Anniversary Main Stage Season:
Ordinary People (February 26-March 15) at Armour Street Theatre.

Conrad Jarrett had an older brother named Buck, and now Buck is gone. What's left of young Conrad's family, with his successful, well-intentioned father and his beautiful, organized and remote mother, is in terrible jeopardy, as is Conrad himself. They are all "ordinary people" and each is fighting a hard battle.

Chicago (June 18-27) at Duke Family Performance Hall, Davidson College Campus.
In roaring twenties Chicago, Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband Amos to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess" Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune and acquittal.

Don't Dress for Dinner (July 16-26) at Duke Family Performance Hall, Davidson College Campus.
With his wife out of town, an alibi from his best friend, and a gourmet chef to add culinary spice, Bernard has the prefect evening planned for his French mistress...or so he thinks. A romantic weekend in the French countryside sounds great, except when your mistress, the cook, the best friend and wife will not cooperate! An evening of hilarious confusion ensues as the guests improvise at breakneck speed. This show is a frenetic case of mistaken identity with more twists than a corkscrew.

Don't Cry For Me Margaret Mitchell (October 1-18) at Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour Street.
A hilarious, fast paced comedy by Charlotte-based playwrights. Set in 1939, this is the (almost) true story of how three sleep-deprived men--a legendary Hollywood producer, a new director, a famed scriptwriter, and a loyal secretary-- had just seven days to re-write script for the American classic, Gone With the Wind. To make matters worse, the screenwriter has never read the book, the director was busy with Dorothy and a host of munchkins and the producer is losing money.

As the public eagerly anticipates the release of the movie, these Hollywood insiders lock themselves in their office, ordering cases of bananas and peanuts for "brain food" until they have a new script for one of the greatest movies of all time!

A Christmas Story (December 3-20) at Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour Street.
Humorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the midwest in the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher and even Santa Claus himself, at Higbee's Department Store. The consistent response: "You'll shoot your eye out!" All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here on stage for you to enjoy! A Christmas Story is destined to become a theatrical holiday perennial.

The Connie Company 2015 Season:
Rumplestilskin (January 31-Feb 1) a partnership with Davidson Day School Theatre, 750 Jetton Street
A bragging father, a poor king, a lot of straw, and a funny little man make for a not- to-miss performance of this classic and cautionary fairy tale. Join us for this funny production that is guaranteed fun family entertainment.

Alice in Wonderland (April 17-26) at Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour Street
Don't be late! For a very important date! The Queen of Hearts requests your presence down the rabbit hole! Follow Alice on her thrilling adventure as she meets all the nonsensical characters of Wonderland! Have tea with the mad hatter, paint the roses red with the cards, and play croquet with the Queen of Hearts. Wear your wonderland best and prepare to go mad!

Thoroughly Modern Millie (November 6-15) at Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour Street
A high-spirited musical filled with jazz, intrigue, and fun flappers! Join Millie as she moves from a small town into the big city in search of a new and more modern life! But as exciting as the roaring 20's can be in New York City, it also has its villains and evil wrongdoings. With catchy songs and fun characters, this musical will have the whole town dancing the Charleston!

Season Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 704-892-7953 or online at DavidsonCommunityPlayers.org.
