Broadway Dreams has partnered with the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and Central Piedmont Community College on the return of their annual Summer Intensive, July 29 - August 5, 2017 in Charlotte, N.C.

Lead by an all-star roster of Broadway's brightest stars and industry professionals, Charlotte's rising stars will participate in a week-long intensive focusing on acting, vocal performance and dance. The week will culminate in two public performances of a unique Broadwaystyle cabaret, allowing students to perform alongside their Broadway idols.

During the Broadway Dreams Charlotte Intensive, students will have the rare opportunity to work closely with three Broadway director / choreographers, including Tony Award-nominated director / choreographer Dan Knechtges (Xanadu), Emmy Award-nominated choreographer Spencer Liff ("So You Think You Can Dance," Hedwig and the Angry Inch), and writer / director Gordon Greenberg (Holiday Inn, Bank GEEKS).

Additional faculty will include Tyler Hanes (CATS), "Glee" star Alex Newell, Royal Swedish Opera star Florian Voss, Nick Adams (Wicked), composer Lynne Shankel (Allegiance), musical director and composer Balint Varga (Houdini: Escaping Death), Julie Craig (West Side Story), Christopher J. Hanke ("Odd Mom Out," How to Succeed...), Sara Jean Ford (CATS, The Phantom of the Opera), Alexis Carra (Sweet Charity), Mimi Scardula (Gigantic), Holland America Cruise Line musical director Leandro Coelho, and Van Hansis ("East Siders," "As the World Turns"). Costume designer Ryan Park (Warpaint, The King and I) will costume the performance, which will take place at week's end.

"Broadway Dreams was founded with the belief that socio-economic background should not be a barrier for youth and young adults to pursue their interest in musical theatre and performance," said Annette Tanner, Founder and President of Broadway Dreams. "With the support of committed partners like the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and Central Piedmont Community College and dedicated board members like Charlotte's Elizabeth Faulkner, we are able to provide performance training, life skills building and mentorship opportunities to tomorrow's stars from today's most distinguished talents."

The final concert, #cometogether, will take place on Friday, August 4 and Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 7 PM at the Blumenthal Performing Arts' Booth Playhouse (130 N Tyron Street, NC). Charlotte's rising stars and Broadway Dreams' incredible faculty will come together to perform musical selections from Chess, Sweet Charity, The Who's Tommy, Company, Sister Act, as well as original dance pieces as seen on "So You Think You Can Dance." #cometogether has already played to sold out audiences in Atlanta, New York City, Los Angeles and Aspen. Tickets for #cometogether in Charlotte are $25 - $55 and are available online, here.
