Broadway's Morgan James will return to 54 Below with songs from her debut recording on Epic Records, Morgan James Live: A Celebration of Nina Simone.

Her performance at 54 Below will also include a sampling of tunes not yet heard from her: a glimpse into her upcoming studio album, which will combine old-school pop and soul with classic blues roots. Ms. James will be surrounded by a powerhouse band including pianist Dave Cook, bassist Brian Cockerham, drummer Tony Mason, guitarist Doug Wamble, saxophonist Ron Blake, trumpeter Lew Soloff, and trombonist Mike Fahie.

Recently seen in the Broadway revival of Godspell, Morgan can currently be seen playing Teena Marie and others in the new Broadway smash, Motown: The Musical.

Ms. James will also have three subsequent shows featuring additional new songs on June 3 & 17, and July 15 at 9:30pm.
