Performer and internet selfie sensation Mark MacKillop will debut his new one-person show - A Night With Mark MacKillop - Saturday evening, May 16 at 9:30 pm at 54 Below (254 West 54th Street). Singing standards from the 80's, 90's and 00's, MacKillop takes the audience on his journey this past year from an aspiring musical theater performer to a world famous taker of scantily-clad selfies in this self-deprecating, tongue-in-cheek guide to becoming 'famous' in 2015.

A classically-trained ballet dancer, Mark MacKillop's internet selfie odyssey began a year ago when he was performing as Riff in the international tour of West Side Story. Bored one day in his London hotel room, MacKillop decided to try out a new self-timer photo app on his iPhone, striking artistic poses in his underwear. He posted a few of the shots on his Instagram account, which at the time had a couple of hundred followers. When West Side Story moved on to Tel Aviv, he tried a few more, posted a few more, getting a lot of 'likes' on his IG. MacKillop kept at it, quickly gaining followers. A year later, Mark now has 26,300 Instagram followers (instagram.com/markmackillop) and a coffee table book collection of his photos entitled Rm. XIV.

Mark MacKillop is a singer actor dancer currently residing in New York City. Born and raised in Vancouver, he grew up performing in musical theatre. After high school he was hired to dance with the Atlanta Ballet, the oldest continually running ballet company in North America. After only six months, Mark performed his first principle role as Paris in Romeo and Juliet. While in Atlanta, he performed the roles of the Prince in Cinderella, the Prince in Snow White, Don Quixote in Don Quixote, Von Rothbart in Swan Lake and was one of three Canadians in the National Ballet of Canada's "Four Seasons when it debuted in the US Premiere at the Atlanta Ballet.
