Alison Cook Beatty Dance performs today and tomorrow, March 25th and 26th at 8pm at Theater of the 14th Street Y with works including TINTINNABULI, HEROIC DEPARTURE, and MURMURATION.

TINTINNABULI, premiered at The Joyce Theater in 2012 and was commissioned by Ballet Next. Philip Gardner wrote, "Alison started off on the right foot by choosing excellent music (Arvo Part) and then went on to create a very pleasing contemporary- style ballet. Alison's TINTINNABULI has a spiritual quality stemming from the celestial music..."

HEROIC DEPARTURE, choreographed in 2013 to the score Atlas of Somewhere (On the Way to Howland Island) ||. Islanded in a Stream of Stars, composed by Dylan Mattingly, is inspired by the American Heroine Amelia Earhart, her life, and her final journey.

MURMURATION will have it's opening premier at The 14th Street Y! This new work is highly influenced by the music Gli uccelli (The Birds) composed by Ottorino Respighi, and the different types of birds recognized within it, including the dove, hen, nightingale, cuckoo, and the aerial ballet of the starlings, wheeling and darting through the sky in tight, fluid formations.

Dancers performing include: Alison Cook-Beatty (Artistic Director), Lindsey L. Miller, Lara Tant, Carolina Rivera, Jonathan Breton, Megan Cohl, Joshua Elliot, Vera Paganin, and Lena Stanly.
