The Weird Sisters are passing the wand to the next batch of Atlanta's finest, up-and-coming female producers

After 5 years of critical acclaim and sold-out shows, the original producers/founding members of The Weird Sisters Theatre Project are passing the wand to the next exciting, up-and-coming group of power-house female artists. The producing team that brought you such gems as Anton in Show Business, Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche, Émilie: La Marquise du Châtelet Defends Her Life Tonight, and last summer's world premiere comedy Hot Pink, or Ready to Blow, are stepping down from their roles as producers. In the vein of the company's mission to foster and cultivate opportunities for women in the arts with a commitment to producing works by women for everyone, they are excited to bequeath their power and responsibilities to the next outstanding producing team. The Founders (Kelly Criss, Veronika Duerr, Jaclyn Hofmann, Megan Rose Houchins, and Tiffany Porter) will stay on as Board Members and avid supporters!

This new formula affords The Weird Sisters the ability to empower more women through the company's lifetime. The founders took this summer off and spent time carefully vetting a new, stellar producing team. They have enjoyed their time learning from each other and growing the company together and are excited to pass the wand and revel in what the next batch of witches create!

The new team includes:

Kate Donadio MacQueen is a graduate of NYU-Tisch School of the Arts and studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. She has been an Atlanta-based actor for over 12 years. She has also recently begun to branch out into directing.

Shelli Delgado holds a B.A. in Theatre and English from the University of Georgia. She is an Atlanta-based actor whose work has been seen at ALLIANCE THEATRE, Aurora Theatre, Actor's Express, Serenbe Playhouse and Georgia Ensemble Theatre, among others. She is also the co-producer and writer of Atlanta's newest comedy web series, Quarter Life*. Most of all, she is beyond happy to be taking this next step with her newfound Weird Sisters family!

Rachel Frawley is an actor and long time Weird Sisters company member. She received her B.F.A. in Theatre from Michigan State University, is an Atlanta Shakespeare Co. apprentice company graduate and current Master Class student at the Company Acting Studio. Recent stage credits include The Revolutionists at 7 Stages and The Crucible at the Shakespeare Tavern.

Rebekah Suellau is a director, playwright and producer focusing in new play development. She holds her MFA in Writing for Stage and Screen from Florida State University and is a founding member of Atlanta producing collective The Seedling Project. She has directed short plays for The Weird Sisters' Night of Twisted Tales and for Horizon Theatre, and her play Kept Woman will premiere Off-Broadway this fall as part of the 2016 Araca Project.

Julie Skrzypek is an Atlanta-based collaborator and director. She holds her B.F.A in Theatre and currently is embarking on a world tour with Jonah Bokaer's RULES OF THE GAME. She has recently worked with Synchronicity Theatre, Atlanta Shakespeare Company, and Weird Sisters.

Producer Quotes:

"It became very clear this past year that as the five of us were all moving on to new (and exciting) career and personal adventures we had less and less time to produce together. This has been such an incredible journey that we unanimously agreed it could not end with us! I keep thinking of it like SNL... with every new cast comes a fresh, unique energy and personality. I'm excited to think of how many killer 'casts' of talented women we'll have assembled 10-15 years from now!" -Jaclyn Hofmann (co-founder)

"Being a Weird Sisters company member has been one of the most exciting and artistically fulfilling parts of my time in the Atlanta. Each of our Weird founding mothers has been a source of inspiration and motivation, and I am thrilled to have the chance to continue to cultivate and craft the voice they brought to the theatre scene. I couldn't have asked for better partners in producing than the new members of the team, and with them I can't wait to create new opportunities and keep Atlanta Weird!" - Rachel Frawley (new producing member and long-time company member)
