Horizon Theatre 2011 Season to Feature SUPERIOR DONUTS, AVENUE Q, RUINED et al.

Horizon Theatre Company is pleased to announce its 27th season of Contemporary Theatre. Horizon's 2011 season features four Regional Premieres and the revival of an audience favorite. Horizon's intimate 175 seat theatre can be found in Atlanta's funky Little Five Points business and arts district.

The season will open on February 25, 2011 with the Superior Donuts from Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning Author Tracy Letts. "A soulful play full of humor and humanity " (Variety) will feature Atlanta actor Chris Kayser, Superior Donuts is directed by Jeff Adler and will run February 25 - March 27.

Up Next is Legacy of Light by Karen Zacarias, an "entertaining new comedy" (Variety) that is a comic quest for self-discovery, knowledge and love. Legacy of Light will run April 8 - May 8, 2011.
For the summer of 2011 Horizon will present Avenue Q winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book. This smart, hilarious, risqué and full of heart musical for grown-ups will be directed by Heidi Cline and runs May 20 - July3, 2011.

Also for the summer of 2011 Horizon will mount a revival of the 2006 hit Three Sistahs. Full of Gospel voices including Bernadine Mitchell, and directed by Thomas W. Jones II, who also penned the book and lyrics this blues and pop musical runs July 15 - August 28, 2011.
Finishing off the 2011 season is the winner of the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama - Ruined by Lynn Nottage. This epic story of love, war, adventure and opportunism, directed by Lisa Adler will run September 16 - October 16, 2011.

Season tickets are on sale now for Horizon's five-play season with package prices ranging from $55 to $160. Subscription perks include discounts to local restaurants, free ticket Wild Cards, and discounts to The Santaland Diaries & other special events.

Single ticket prices are $25-$30 on Saturdays; $22-$25 on Fridays, Sundays, and Saturday Matinees; $20 on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Prices do not include tax.
