Georgia Ensemble Theatre Co-Founder Robert Farley Honored by Chamber of Commerce as Non-Profit Visionary

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, is proud to announce that theatre Co-founder and Artistic Director Robert Farley has today been named by the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce (GNFCC) as the first honoree for the Non Profit Vision Award. The award honors the visionaries in our community who abound with creativity and passion, making a difference in the places where we live, work and play. The GNFCC thanked Farley for "...for his vision to make the arts vibrant for all generations."

Farley graciously accepted the award giving thanks to a fantastic board and staff and especially to the many, many season subscribers, students, teachers and partners who continue to attend and support Georgia Ensemble Theatre.

GET Board Treasurer Karen Pilcher, of Fidelity Bank, presented the award to Farley on behalf of the Chamber and the community at the event at GNFCC Eggs & Enterprise Breakfast event held at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek.

Other attendees on hand to represent the Theatre were co-founder and Managing Director ANita Allen-Farley and trustees Janet Kincaid (President), Linda Lee Parker (Secretary), Robert Hagan (President Emeritus), Carla Crowell (past President), Jonathan Crooks - Epsilon, Tom Davis - Fidelity Bank, Ken Davis - Renasant Bank, Sherri Morgan - Bank of North Georgia/Synovus, Tammy Tate - Community Volunteer, and GET Resources Manager Michael Van Osch.

GET will open its 24th season with the hit Ghost the Musical, running September 15th - October 2nd, 2016. With book and lyrics by Bruce Joel Rubin (based on his film), audiences will revel in this new version of the musical, a timeless fantasy about the power of love. As in the 1990 film, you can't help but be drawn in by the romance, the comedy, and the suspense of this story of two young lovers, Sam and Molly. Torn apart by a tragic crime, psychic Oda Mae Brown facilitates Sam's journey back from death to help solve his own murder. The story is brought to life with music and lyrics by Dave Stewart (The Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard (Michael Jackson's Thriller). The production is sponsored by Macy's.
