With school back in session and families setting into the school year, Aurora Theatre announces an amazing array of classes for students this fall. The acclaimed Aurora Theatre Academy offers sessions for any student. From beginners to advanced and covering students in 1st-12th grade programs as well as, an Adult Acting Class. Aurora Theatre Director of Education, Jaclyn Hofmann, has put together an incredible team of teaching professionals, who you may have spotted on stage around Atlanta or on screen anywhere from Georgia Lottery commercials to HBO.

Aurora Theatre, being the only professional theatre in Gwinnett County, is the ideal place for people to study the arts. What distinguishes Aurora Theatre Academy from other programs is that students have the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a world-class venue, and the instructors are working professionals with years of real-world theatrical experience. In addition to receiving training to be a winner onstage, students build confidence, improve communication and learn life skills that will be a valuable part of their bright futures.

Aurora Theatre Academy's Mini (Grades 1 & 2) and Master Classes (Grades 3-5) classes give students the opportunity to learn what it takes to put on a play. Students will be provided with valuable stage experience, all the while encouraging teamwork and collaboration with peers. The experience instills a sense of self-confidence in our students. They will be active participants in creating portions of the sets, costumes, and props for these exciting, whirlwind productions presented to family and friends.

Middle and high school students have a few great options in the fall session.

A Musical Theatre intensive, in which students will study singing and acting technique, audition preparation and etiquette, and the joy of collaborating with other young artists to create compelling musical theatre on stage.

The Acting Edge Intermediate or Advanced Classes encourage Teens, take the drama out of thier life and put it where it belongs - on stage! Through a series of theatre games, exercises, and exploration, the class will become an ensemble of players rehearsing a collection of scenes to be performed for friends & family. Intermediate Acting Edge is for Students who are brand new to Aurora Academy, while the Advanced class is for returning Aurora Academy Students.

Adult Acting is perfect for the person wanted to act or maybe just feel more comfortable in front of an audience, and is ready to make the leap.
