Aurora Theatre assembles the best children's performers in the region, bringing them to Gwinnett County for the series Aurora Children's Playhouse. Get ready for summer with three amazing performances for families with young children.

Join Aurora Children's Playhouse for a lively audience interactive musical extravaganza on May 3, A Musical Tour through Latin America presented by Havana Son transports the audience to the tropics without a passport by taking them on a musical journey. Children participate by singing, clapping, dancing or playing percussion instruments. Their musical itinerary includes stops in Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Panama, and Puerto Rico, as children sample each country's unique sounds and rhythms. These kids will be having too much fun to realize that they are learning about the cultures and different countries of Latin America.

On May 10, join Brer Rabbit and his friends for stories, music, and humor in this new production by All Hands Productions puppeteer, David Stephens. The New Adventures of Brer Rabbit combines the classic characters with new, original stories. Brer Rabbit has his toughness put to the test in Brer Rabbit and the Fly. Brer Bear falls for one of Brer Fox's tricks in Brer Bear and the Beehive. You'll learn Brer Rabbit's special fishing technique in Brer Rabbit Goes Fishing. Finally, Brer Rabbit learns to play the banjo in Brer Rabbit Tries to Sing. Featuring hand and rod puppets, like the ones on Sesame Street, this show is fun for all ages.

Lee Bryan-That Puppet Guy returns on May 17 with Dr. Dinosaur, an exciting expedition of prehistoric proportions! Discover how paleontologists learn interesting facts about carnivores and herbivores by examining the fossils and bones they left behind. These puppet adventures in time demonstrates adaptation, flying reptiles, extinction... and even a "real live" Dinosaur Death Match between the Cruel King Lizard, Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Speedy Thief known as the Velociraptor. Rock thru the ages and rock to the beat in this toe-tapping musical revue featuring rod puppets, hand puppets, original songs and of course, dinosaurs!

Aurora Children's Playhouse features the region's top children's performers, including: puppeteers, magicians, storytellers, jugglers and musicians intended for youngsters to have their first theatrical experiences. At about 45 minutes in length, perfect for the young attention span, these lively performances are fun for the whole family. Aurora Children's Playhouse performances are held on select Saturday mornings at 10am unless otherwise noted. All tickets $7, Reservations Recommended.
