Girl Scout Weekend 2010

The Girl Scouts of Greater AtlANTA, Inc. (GSGATL) and Atlanta Ballet have partnered to create the inaugural Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Weekend, December 3 - 5, during this year's production of Belk Presents Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker. During the weekend festivities, Girl Scouts and friends and family of Girl Scouts will receive specially discounted tickets and will enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek of Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker during the Saturday and Sunday matinees. Atlanta Ballet will also donate 10% of the proceeds from the special Girl Scout promotion to the Girl Scout Gold Award Scholarship Fund. Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker Luncheon at the Georgian Terrace Hotel

Enjoy a seated lunch before the Saturday, December 11 matinee performance of Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker. Four Seasons Atlanta Annual Children's Nutcracker Teas

Special memories are created when dancers from Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker perform their vignette and the Nutcracker story is read aloud during tea time. Delightful sweets, seasonal sandwiches will be served and children will decorate holiday cookies with Four Seasons' chefs. The Ritz Carlton - Buckhead Annual Children's Nutcracker Teas

Young dancers from Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker perform vignettes from the famed ballet, the Dickens Singers entertain, and of course, Santa makes his annual appearance. Children enjoy hot chocolate, sweets of the season, and may decorate a holiday cookie. Teas will be held 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., December 18 and 19, 2:30 p.m. December 20, and 11:00 a.m. December 21 at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead.

Nutty Nutcracker (Rated PG-13)

What do Starbucks Baristas, Sookie Stackhouse, Lady Gaga, Harry Potter, and Twilight Tweens all have in common? They are all waiting in the wings for a chance to appear in Atlanta Ballet's Nutty Nutcracker this holiday season, of course! For one night only, Thursday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m., the popular show returns to the Fabulous Fox Theatre for an evening of bawdy humor, cross-dressing, and ridiculous current events all rolled into a very loose adaptation of everyone's favorite holiday ballet. "Un-choreographed" by Atlanta Ballet Dancers themselves, all ticket proceeds benefit the Dancer's Resource Fund, which aids dancers in retirement or career transition.
